The Great United

Campaign, knitted patches and publication.

This campaign was to raise awareness of the historical and social importance migration has had on the shaping of the United Kingdom, as well as to show solidarity, respect and support to the migrants entering the UK and across the globe, by showing the enormous amount of things that we consider quintessentially British that would not have existed without the movement of people, for instance fish and chips, or tea. The aim was to not be political but instead to simply show the facts, to educate and highlight the how immigration has majorly advanced our country. I aim to develop this further, improving the quality and content of the knitted patches and to continue further research (and to reconsider the name of the project).
